On a day that Exit-Strategies was linked on one of the most popular conservative blogs, The Independent Institute hosted an excellent conference on -- exit strategies. Leon Hadar, Ivan Eland, and David Henderson presented talks on forming a new paradigm for dealing with the Middle East, the lack of justification for “protecting the oil” with the military -- and why wars in the Middle East aren't "just about the oil" -- and the prospects for political de-centralization and partition in Iraq. These talks coincided with the release of longer white papers by the authors.
Each talk deserves a full report, and in the next two days, I’ll do my best to convey some of the more interesting moments.
